WHAT‘S HAPPENING  IN 2025 ?

MAY 2025 UPDATE :

UPCOMING / CURRENT PUPPIES:

Our current F1B litter is expected to be 20-40 lbs. THEY WILL BE READY FOR NEW HOMES THE FIRST HALF OF JUNE.

About this litter :

Mom is a 30 lbs F1 Bernedoodle ( half Bernese mountain dog).
Dad is an AKC 20 lb  red and white parti moyen  poodle.
With both parents being genetically half small and half large breed we expect to see some variety in size.  A couple of pups appear to be in the “ micro “ range - ie under 25 lbs and the rest in the “ mini” range (which for Bernedoodles is a midsized dog of 25-50 lbs .)

This litter has a delightful array of colors and patterns including traditional tri color, traditional tri color merle, tri parti and tri parti Merle.

UPCOMING PLANS-

2025 FALL PLANS
Busy summer ahead? Perhaps a fall pup fits your plans best.   We plan Carol‘s debut litter… that will be ready in September.   This litter will be F1B medium sized Bernedoodles and pregnancy will be confirmed in June. ( Carol x Scooter)

2026 BERNEDOODLE PLANS

We will be offering at least 2 litters of F1B bernedoodles from our 3 high red intensity abstract phantom, genetically clear poodles paired with Scooter a mini F1 Bernedoodle with Embark clear testing. These 3 girls are AKC registered, with delightful temperaments and all have a 9 or 10 red intensity.

2026 MINI POODLE PLANS

We plan to debut our new stud dog hopeful “ Beau” in 2026. He resides in a guardian home in VT.

Reservation Process

If you would like  information please text me at 802-299-9883.  I am happy to share pics of the litter as they grow .  You may choose a pup via photo or video prior to 5 - 6 weeks. Or visit  them   in our pup tent / puppy room once they reach 5 -6 weeks.

Deposits

WE ONLY ACCEPT DEPOSITS ON SPECIFIC PUPS.  (This change in  policy is so that people cannot hold up the choosing process for other people . 😀).

If you are quite sure you want a puppy and see one that visually appeals to you …. but would like to visit before finalizing your decision…. Then we recommend you deposit on a specific pup before your visit.  If an “ Unreserved Pup” decides to choose you at your visit you are certainly welcome to shift your reserved choice.

Thank you for your interest and support !

About Our Parent Dogs

Our Breeder’s Quest

Our parent dogs  are our family and live in our home with us.  At any time we may have 2-4 breeding age females and 2 intact males under our roof.  And possibly a puppy that is being tested and evaluated for appropriateness over months or a year.  We also have stud dogs in guardian homes.

There is more than meets the eye with our gorgeous painstakingly selected breeding dogs and we treat them as our partners in bringing you the best puppy we can muster.

The Breeder’s Niche we aspire to is as follows:

Calm, socialized, confident, eager to please temperament. Sound and strong structure. Quality movement. Medium to small size. Free of testable disease.  Low shed, hypoallergenic, with desirable coat characteristics.  And as much “ color pop” as we can muster by adding red intensity and rufus genetics into our lines.

I have sifted thru many hundreds of litters and testing results to select dogs that have clear health genetics, solid canine builds, and desirable color and coat profiles.

Every dog in our home is a phantom.  Without sable, roan or saddle tan. My favorite combination for Bernedoodle puppies is a F1 Bernedoodle sire bred to a phantom poodle dam who has at least 8 red intensity .… to create the more hypoallergenic F1B.

Our stud dogs have hard to find characteristics, and their impact on our puppies is clear.
Our momma dogs are typically very rare high red  intensity AKC phantom poodles with completely clear genetic testing, with Rufus and Irish spotting genetics.  I find poodles make excellent intelligent mothers- a bit more careful, devoted, fastidious and fit than other breeds.

WHY “ DOODLES” / OUT CROSSES?
I am a strong advocate for low COI  and intentional hybrid breedings and careful outcrosses.   The benefits of outcrossing whist maintaining known characteristics of a purebred are discussed at length on nearly every University Agricultural website and in their educational materials.

As a farmer for 20 years it was quite clear to me that the F1  “ doodles” of the chicken or bovine worlds benefited from vigor, good nature and health beyond that of their purebred parents.   As is seen in breeds like an ISA Brown chicken or white faced angus.   So while I understand that some breeders of purebred are mortified  by “ doodling “, my own perspective is a respect for the possible enhancement of  hardiness, health and temperament of a widened but still predictable gene pool.
I genuinely love both BMD and Poodle breeds.
The BMD is loyal, devoted, calm with stunning markings and a solid, strong build.  It is also a large breed that sheds heavily and has a poor health outlook, chronic whelping struggles and lack of longevity.
Poodles are extremely tuned in, smart, hypoallergenic, athletic, excellent mothers,  available in a range of sizes, and generally long lived.  They can also be more high strung,  their coloring generally fades, and they are prone to ear hair/ infections and watery eyes.
A Bernedoodle bridges the gap- providing a longer lived , colorful, more hypoallergenic dog in a manageable size.
